Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a full‑time Radiation Oncology physicist in Peoria, IL, to provide comprehensive medical physics support across external beam, brachytherapy, SRS and SBRT. You will oversee QA, calibration and safety programs, while leading safety initiatives as the Department Radiation Safety Officer.

You will collaborate with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists and therapists to optimize treatment planning and delivery, participate in QA and safety meetings, and contribute to staff

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Physics or PhD required or preferred.
• ABR certification required.
• IEMA radiologic technologist license required.
• Experience in medical physics or related clinical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical physics support for external beam radiation therapy, brachytherapy, SRS and SBRT.
• Oversee equipment acceptance testing, commissioning, calibration and ongoing QA programs.
• Develop and maintain departmental physics policies, procedures and QA programs.
• Serve as Department Radiation Safety Officer and lead radiation safety initiatives.
• Collaborate with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists and therapists to optimize treatment planning and delivery.
• Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and radiation safety meetings.
• Contribute to staff education, orientation and technical instruction for team and students.
• Support clinical projects and program development within radiation oncology.

ABR Certified Specialist in Therapeutic Radiologic Physics

IEMA Licensed Radiologic Technologist – Radiation Therapy
