Job summary
Carle Health in Peoria, Illinois seeks a full-time Radiation Oncology physicist to join our team. You will provide comprehensive medical physics support across external beam radiotherapy, brachytherapy and advanced techniques, while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
You will lead QA programs, collaborate with clinicians, dosimetrists and therapists, and contribute to education and program development.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or PhD in Physics or related field
- ABR certification is required
- IEMA licensure required for Radiation Therapy
- Experience in medical physics or related clinical setting preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive medical physics support for external beam radiotherapy, brachytherapy, SRS and SBRT
- Oversee equipment acceptance testing, commissioning, calibration and QA
- Develop and maintain departmental physics policies and QA programs
- Act as Department Radiation Safety Officer and lead radiation safety initiatives
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists and therapists for optimal treatment planning and delivery
- Participate in departmental quality improvement, safety meetings and strategic planning
- Educate and mentor staff and students; contribute to clinical projects and program development
