Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a full‑time Radiation Oncology physicist to join our Peoria, IL team. You will provide physics support for external beam, brachytherapy, SRS and SBRT, and ensure QA and regulatory compliance across the department.

You will serve as the Department Radiation Safety Officer, develop policies, lead safety initiatives, and collaborate with oncologists, dosimetrists and therapists to optimize treatment planning and delivery.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Physics or related field required or equivalent.
• ABR certification (Therapeutic Radiologic Physics) required.
• IEMA licensure in Radiation Therapy required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical physics support for external beam, brachytherapy, SRS and SBRT.
• Oversee QA programs, equipment acceptance testing, commissioning, and calibration.
• Develop and maintain physics policies and radiation safety procedures.
• Serve as Department Radiation Safety Officer and lead safety/shielding programs.
• Collaborate with oncologists, dosimetrists and therapists to optimize treatment planning.
• Participate in quality improvement, safety meetings, and staff education.
