Altru Health is seeking a BC/BE Radiation Oncologist to join its Grand Forks, ND team. The role supports a Tomotherapy and Radixact program with a daily patient volume of 24-30 patients.

Essential functions include diagnosing and treating patients, counseling on preventive care, and documenting care to ensure quality and reimbursements. Applicants must hold a medical doctorate and be eligible for board certification in the US or Canada, with licensure in ND/MN.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate in medical practice from an accredited school.
  • Must be admissible to sit for either the Canadian or American Board or be certified by the Canadian Board.
  • Board certification in area of specialty must be obtained within five years of employment.
  • Legally licensed to practice medicine in North Dakota and/or Minnesota, depending on location.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates, provides diagnosis and treatment of patients as part of Altru Health System.
  • Counsels patients and advises on preventative healthcare measures.
  • Exercises professional judgment in diagnosis and treatment in line with policies and standards.
  • Achieves patient engagement and quality & safety goals as defined annually.
  • Participates in department activities and supports goals for the year.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation ensuring quality patient care and reimbursements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Summary: Monday - Friday 8-5 Daily patient volume of 24-30 patients Support Staff Group - Physicists, Dosimetrists, Radiation Therapists, App, Nurse, and Patient Access Tomotherapy Machine and Radixact Altru is seeking a BC/BE Radiation Oncologist to join its team in Grand Forks, ND. Altru Health System is a community-owned, integrated healthcare system with a Trauma II hospital, a specialty hospital, more than a dozen clinics in Grand Forks and the surrounding region, and a large home care network. More than 200 physicians are employed with Altru crossing 44 specialties and serving a referral population of over 225,000 residents in in northeast North Dakota and northwest Minnesota. As the first member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network, Altru's providers have access to clinically integrated tools extending Mayo Clinic's knowledge and expertise to patients.

Essential Job Functions: Evaluates, provides diagnosis and treatment of patients of Altru Health System who present with injuries or illnesses. Counsels patients and advises on preventative healthcare measures. Exercises Doctor's own judgment in the diagnosis and treatment of patients consistent with Altru's policies and standards. Achieves the Altru Health System Patient Engagement and Quality & Safety goals established on an annual basis. Participates in activities and support department goals as defined by department on an annual basis. Maintains accurate and timely documentation ensuring quality patient care and assurance of appropriate reimbursements to Altru Health System. Performs other duties as assigned.

Must be admissible to sit for either the Canadian or American Board or be certified by the Canadian Board and are members of either the Royal College of Physicians or Royal College of Surgeons, American board certification or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) board certification. Board certification in area of specialty must be obtained within five years of employment. Be legally licensed to practice medicine in North Dakota and/or Minnesota, depending on the location of the practice to which they are assigned.
