Overview

Altru Health System is seeking a BC/BE Radiation Oncologist to join its team in Grand Forks, ND. Altru Health System is a community-owned, integrated healthcare system with a Trauma II hospital, a specialty hospital, more than a dozen clinics in Grand Forks and the surrounding region, and a large home care network. More than 200 physicians are employed with Altru crossing 44 specialties and serving a referral population of over 225,000 residents in northeast North Dakota and northwest Minnesota. As the first member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network, Altru’s providers have access to clinically integrated tools extending Mayo Clinic’s knowledge and expertise to patients.

Summary

Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00am–5:00pm. Daily patient volume of 24–30 patients. Support Staff Group includes Physicists, Dosimetrists, Radiation Therapists, APP, Nurse, and Patient Access. Equipment includes Tomotherapy and Radixact.

Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions)
  • Evaluates, provides diagnosis and treatment of patients who present with injuries or illnesses. Counsels patients and advises on preventative healthcare measures.
  • Exercises professional judgment in the diagnosis and treatment of patients consistent with Altru’s policies and standards.
  • Aims to achieve the Altru Health System Patient Engagement and Quality & Safety goals; participates in department goals as defined on an annual basis.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation ensuring quality patient care and appropriate reimbursements to Altru Health System.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Doctorate within the specified field of medical practice from an accredited school.
  • Must be admissible to sit for either the Canadian or American Board or be certified by the Canadian Board, and be a member of either the Royal College of Physicians or Royal College of Surgeons; American board certification or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) board certification. Board certification in area of specialty must be obtained within five years of employment.
  • Be legally licensed to practice medicine in North Dakota and/or Minnesota, depending on the location of the practice assignment.
