Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a full-time Radiation Oncology physicist for our Peoria, Illinois team. The role provides comprehensive medical physics support for external beam therapy, brachytherapy, SRS, and SBRT, while collaborating with physicians, dosimetrists, and therapists to optimize treatment planning and delivery.

ABR certification and IEMA licensure are required, with a Master’s degree or PhD in Physics.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Physics or a related field.
• ABR Certified Specialist in Therapeutic Radiologic Physics is required.
• Licensed Radiologic Technologist – Radiation Therapy (IEMA) is required.
• Experience in medical physics or a related clinical setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive physics support for external beam radiation therapy, brachytherapy, SRS, and SBRT.
• Oversee QA, commissioning, calibration, and ongoing quality assurance of equipment.
• Develop and maintain departmental physics policies, procedures, and QA programs.
• Serve as Department Radiation Safety Officer and lead radiation safety initiatives.
• Collaborate with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, and therapists to optimize treatment planning and delivery.
• Participate in education and training for staff and students.
