Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of terminology, principles, and analytical techniques of radiation.
• Willing to work before, during, and/or beyond normal hours in emergencies.
• Authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
• Willing to perform field work and work in an office daily.

Responsibilities

• Plans and schedules monitoring of environmental radiation around nuclear power plants.
• Collects environmental samples and coordinates with labs for quality control.
• Inspects low-level radioactive waste shipments prior to disposal.
• Calibrates and maintains air, water and biota sampling equipment and detectors.
• Provides on-call duty officer support for radiation incidents and emergencies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
