Job summary

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of radiation terminology, principles and analytical techniques.
  • Willing to work before, during and/or beyond normal hours in emergencies.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
  • Willing to physically come in daily and perform field work.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on environmental radiation on lands to be mined and reclaimed after mining.
  • Perform radiological surveillance to determine environmental impact of phosphate mining.
  • Collect environmental samples, distribute/collect area monitors, and perform gamma surveys.
  • Prepare reports on mining operations, sampling and surveying activities.
  • Serve as a member of Florida's radiological emergency response team.
  • Be available for emergency duties including shelter responses and disaster scenarios.
