Job summary

Leidos is seeking a talented Radar Modeling Engineer to join a diverse team working on radar system models and software development for RF/EW projects in the Defense Intelligence Community.

The role emphasizes developing high-fidelity RF models, integrating into simulation architectures, and delivering robust verification and documentation. Candidates should have a strong C++ background, DSP understanding, MATLAB/Python familiarity, and be eligible for a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field from ABET-accredited institution.
• GPA of 3.5 or higher is required.
• Strong background in C++ and/or object-oriented programming.
• Understanding of digital signal processing.
• Experience with modeling and simulation systems.
• Familiarity with MATLAB or Python (or other simulation tools).
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and in a team.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship and residency in North Alabama / willingness to relocate to Huntsville, AL.

Responsibilities

• Develop analytical to high-fidelity RF system models to support EW analysis.
• Integrate models into real-time and non-real-time simulation architectures.
• Assess operator-in-the-loop effects on radar/missile system simulations.
• Develop threat models including waveform scheduling, correlation/tracking, signal processing, and closed-loop behavior.
• Conduct GUI and software development in Windows and Linux environments.
• Perform testing, verification, and documentation of development work and analyses.
