Job summary

Astrion is seeking an Engineer/Scientist to support the SPY-6 radar program at Naval Support Facility Dahlgren, VA. The role demands MBSE-driven systems engineering for radar and EW systems, with a focus on spectrum management and performance analysis.

The position requires a DoD Secret clearance (or ability to obtain) and on-site work in Dahlgren, with collaboration across hardware, software, and test teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from ABET-accredited engineering program.
  • DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.
  • Four to six years of relevant engineering/scientific experience.
  • Experience applying systems engineering to radar, sensor, EW, or similar complex systems.
  • Experience with requirements development, decomposition, allocation, traceability, and interface definition.
  • Experience applying MBSE methods and tools to architecture, requirements management, or design.
  • Experience conducting analyses involving radar, RF, spectrum, or EM systems.
  • Must work on-site at Dahlgren and be a U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

  • Support systems engineering activities for the SPY-6 radar program throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Develop, decompose, and manage radar system and subsystem requirements across hardware and software.
  • Develop and maintain system specifications, requirements baselines, capability documents, and interface control documents.
  • Evaluate completeness, consistency, and traceability of radar system and interface requirements.
  • Apply MBSE processes to support architecture, requirements management, and design analysis.
  • Perform technical analyses for radar architecture, interoperability, spectrum engineering, and system performance.
  • Develop models and analytical tools to predict radar-system performance.
  • Support model verification, validation, and accreditation activities.
  • Participate in radar, combat-system, and platform integration activities.
  • Support analyses related to spectrum management, EMC, waveform development, clutter management, and signal-processing performance.
  • Prepare technical reports and briefings for Government program managers and stakeholders.
