Job summary

Astrion invites engineers to support the U.S. Navy SPY-6 Radar Program and Foreign Military Sales at Naval Support Facility Dahlgren, VA. You will conduct systems engineering and technical analyses, develop radar concepts, and manage requirements across hardware and software to enable successful integration.

Qualified candidates have ABET-accredited engineering degrees, 4–6 years of relevant experience, and are able to work on-site at Dahlgren. DoD clearance or eligibility is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited program in engineering or physics.
  • Engineering degrees must be from a school with ABET accreditation.
  • Four to six years of relevant engineering or scientific experience; advanced education may be considered toward the requirement.
  • Experience with systems engineering for radar, sensor, combat-system, shipboard, or complex technical systems.
  • Experience with requirements development, decomposition, allocation, traceability, system specifications, or interface definition.
  • Experience applying MBSE methods or tools to architecture, requirements, or system-design activities.
  • Experience conducting technical analyses and preparing engineering reports and presentations.
  • Some experience with Foreign Military Sales or international programs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform systems engineering and technical analysis for SPY-6 integration on naval platforms.
  • Develop and evaluate radar concepts, system architectures, requirements, and interfaces.
  • Define, decompose, allocate, and maintain system and subsystem requirements across hardware and software.
  • Develop and assess system specifications, baselines, and interface control documents.
  • Apply MBSE processes to requirements management and architecture development.
  • Conduct radar performance analyses and assess feasibility of configurations.
  • Develop models and analytical tools for system-performance prediction and verification.
  • Support radar, combat-system, ship-platform, and subsystem integration activities.
  • Provide test and evaluation support including planning and data analysis using MATLAB.
  • Prepare reports and briefings documenting radar-concept feasibility.
  • Participate in interchanges with Government, industry, and international stakeholders.
