Job summary

Liberty Defense in Wilmington, MA is seeking a Senior FPGA/HW Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team developing advanced radar and mm-wave security platforms for aviation and commercial markets. You will collaborate with RF, Mechanical, System and Software engineers to design, validate, and integrate FPGA-based solutions.

Responsibilities include selecting and developing FPGAs for system-level designs, supporting embedded control, high-speed links, IP blocks, and hardware-accelerated

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 7+ years of experience.
  • Proficiency in VHDL/Verilog RTL; FPGA development on Altera or Xilinx devices.
  • Hands-on with lab debugging equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
  • Experience with verification methods, RTL and gate-level simulations.
  • Development experience with FPGA peripherals and I/O subsystems (DDR, PCIe, Ethernet, SPI, I2C).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to tackle diverse challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Select, develop, and integrate FPGAs for system-level designs.
  • Collaborate with RF, mechanical, system, and software engineers.
  • Validate designs from low-level hardware control to high-level IP blocks.
  • Develop hardware-accelerated algorithms and filters for the platform.
