Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems seeks a Radar Engineer Intern to join a diverse team in Summer 2027, working on radar signal processors, tracking algorithms, and RF sensor systems. The role involves collaboration with skilled engineers to improve performance and reduce latency.

Applicants must be enrolled in Electrical or Computer Engineering, be a US citizen eligible for DoD clearance, and be willing to relocate to Huntsville, Alabama.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (ABET-accredited).
• US citizen with ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.
• Resident of North Alabama or willing to relocate to Huntsville area.
• Strong technical background with radar modeling, simulation and software development.
• Proficient in MATLAB, Python, C++, Linux.

Responsibilities

• Support radar programs including development of signal processors and tracking algorithms.
• Simulate radar systems and field-test RF sensors.
• Collaborate with engineers to improve algorithms for performance and latency.
• Review literature to identify potential improvements and assess applicability.
