Requirements include ARRT certification and GMRT license, BCLS, and 1 year of radiologic technologist experience; an accredited program with an associate degree is preferred.

• ARRT certification required on hire; GMRT license via TDH or TMB required on hire.
• BCLS certification required prior to independent patient care and maintained quarterly.

The organization is currently seeking a Rad Tech, Full time, Evenings to join its imaging department at Texas Health Rockwall, located in Rockwall, TX. This is a full-time evening position within a fast-paced, collaborative hospital environment.

Texas Health Hospital Rockwall has served Rockwall, Kaufman, Hunt, and surrounding counties since 2007. The 105-bed acute care facility provides comprehensive medical and surgical services, including a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, cardiac catheterization lab, interventional radiology suite, and expanded surgery suites. Radiologic technologists here work alongside radiologists, nurses, and fellow imaging professionals in a culture that emphasizes continuing education and professional development.

What You Will Do

Daily responsibilities span patient interaction, image production, and clinical coordination. Key duties include:

• Explaining procedures to patients or guardians before exams and positioning them correctly for the anatomical area of interest
• Performing complex procedures with age-related criteria and developmental considerations
• Assisting radiologists with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique
• Processing and manipulating images, analyzing quality, and making technique adjustments or repeating procedures as needed
• Coordinating with Centralized Scheduling and other modalities for seamless patient flow

Beyond operating imaging equipment, technologists prepare examination rooms with appropriate supplies, verify physician orders through time-out protocols, administer contrast media per medication guidelines, and demonstrate knowledge of quality control and regulatory standards. The role also requires respectful communication with co-workers and other departments.

Key Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology required upon hire, or Associate Degree preferred
• One year of radiologic technologist experience preferred
• General Medical Radiologic Technologist (GMRT) license through Texas Department of Health (TDH) or Texas Medical Board (TMB) required upon hire
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification required upon hire
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required prior to independent patient care and maintained quarterly
• Communication, computer, and venipuncture skills
