Job summary

Texas Health Rockwall is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to join a collaborative imaging team. You will explain procedures, position patients, perform complex imaging under radiologist supervision, and assist with invasive procedures using aseptic technique.

The position requires graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program, ARRT certification, and GMRT license, with BCLS and clinical skills in communication, venipuncture, and computer use emphasized.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology required upon hire or Associate Degree preferred
• One year of Radiologic Technologist experience preferred
• GMRT license required upon hire
• ARRT certification required upon hire
• BCLS certification required prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly

Responsibilities

• Explains procedures to patient or guardian prior to exam and positions patient to the correct anatomical area
• Processes and manipulates images, analyzes image quality and adjusts technique as needed
• Prepares room for examination and checks orders using time-out procedures
• Administers contrast media and other medications per guidelines; communicates with co-workers
• Demonstrates knowledge of quality control and regulatory standards

Here’s What You Need

Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology required upon hire or Associate Degree preferred

One (1) Year Of Radiologic Technologist Experience Preferred

General Medical Radiologic Technologist (GMRT) license through either the Texas Department of Health (TDH) or Texas Medical Board (TMB) required upon hire

American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification required upon hire

Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly

What You Will Do

• Explains procedures to patient or guardian / family member if applicable prior to exam. Positions patient to correct anatomical area of interest. Performs complex procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerations. Assists radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique.
• Processes and manipulates images, analyzes image quality, troubleshoots, makes technique adjustments or repeat procedures as needed. Coordinates with Centralized Scheduling and other modalities.
• Prepares room for examination (i.e. suction, oxygen, supplies). Checks physician orders and exam requisitions using time-out procedures.
• Administers contrast media and other medications in accordance with medication administration guidelines. Processes patient information, displays proper phone etiquette and transports patients as needed. Communicates respectfully with co-workers and other departments. Adjusts technical factors. Operates, cares for and maintains equipment.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and understanding of quality control and regulatory standards.

Texas Health Hospital Rockwall has served Rockwall, Kaufman, Hunt, and surrounding counties since 2007. Our 105-bed acute care hospital provides medical and surgical services to patients from Rockwall, Heath, Fate, Royse City, McLendon-Chisholm, eastern Dallas County, southern Collin County, and nearby communities.
