Graduate from an approved Radiologic Technology program with ARRT registry and Virginia license; BLS‑HCP certification required. Excellent patient communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• No prior experience required.
• Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) registry with a Virginia state license.
• AHA BLS-HCP certification.
• Effective interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiologic procedures using radiographic, CR, DR, and PACS equipment.
• Assess patients before, during, and after procedures per Imaging Services guidelines.
• Position patients for high‑quality images and conduct IV contrast injections or related procedures.
• Use RIS and EMR for patient data management.
• Train students and staff; may cross‑train on phlebotomy or EKG per CLIA.

Job Summary

Full‑time, day shift position located at 2331 Franklin Rd – Roanoke, VA for the Outpatient Radiology Technologist (Rad Tech) supporting Lexington/Raphine and Roanoke orthopedics. The role offers a new‑hire sign‑on bonus of up to $30,000 and relocation assistance of up to $7,000. This position is part of a Nationally accredited, award‑winning health system serving nearly 1million Virginians annually.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate diagnostic procedures on patients, including radiation‑based imaging, using radiographic, computed radiography (CR), digital radiography (DR), and picture archive communication system (PACS) equipment.
• Assess patients before, during, and after procedures in accordance with Imaging Services departmental guidelines.
• Position patients to obtain high‑quality images and conduct IV contrast injections, urinary catheterizations, or other required procedures.
• Utilize the Radiology Information System (RIS) and electronic medical records for patient data management.
• Train students and staff as assigned and may cross‑train on laboratory phlebotomy, laboratory waivers, or EKG performance in compliance with CLIA regulations.
• Maintain a reassuring approach, strong technical skills, and excellent patient communication throughout all interactions.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• No prior experience required.
• Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) registry required with a valid Virginia state license.
• AHA BLS‑HCP certification required.
• Effective interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.

Compensation

$23.97 – $35.96 per hour, based on qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. This range does not include benefits or pension plan details.
