Responsibilities

• Assess patients prior to, during, and after procedures according to Imaging Services/Departmental Guidelines
• Operate highly specialized equipment, including radiographic, CR (Computed Radiography), DR (Digital Radiography), and PACS (Picture Archive Communication System)
• Position patients to obtain quality images
• Perform IV contrast injections, urinary catheterizations, and other procedures as required
• Utilize RIS (Radiology Information System) and electronic medical records
• Train students and staff as assigned
• May be cross‑trained on laboratory phlebotomy and operate laboratory waive testing equipment in accordance with CLIA regulations
• May be trained to perform EKGs

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology
• Experience: None
• Licensure, certification, and registration: Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) registry required; Virginia state license required; AHA BLS‑HCP required
• Other: Effective interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
