Job summary

Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA is seeking a Rad Technologist for an evening/night full-time shift (Wed–Fri, 7 p.m.–7 a.m.) in the diagnostic imaging department. The role handles ionizing radiation procedures across emergency, inpatient, and operating room settings.

Sign-on bonus up to $30,000 with relocation assistance up to $7,000. Salary ranges from $27.70 to $41.55 per hour, plus benefits such as medical/dental/vision, pension, and paid time off; CLIA-compliant lab duties and student training

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• ARRT registry or registry-eligible.
• AHA BLS-HCP certification.
• High school graduate or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis.
• Assess patients before, during, and after procedures in accordance with CMC Guidelines.
• Evaluate and position patients to obtain quality images with professional ethics, care, courtesy, patience, and safety.
• Perform IV contrast injections, urinary catheterizations, and/or other procedures as required.
• Observe patients for adverse reactions and assist in aid when necessary.
• Operate fluoroscopic and radiographic equipment, including CR and DR systems.
• Train students and staff as assigned.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other hospital personnel; obtain informed consent and provide patient education.
• Cross-train basic laboratory phlebotomy and operate laboratory waiver testing equipment in compliance with CLIA regulations.
• Record and maintain all procedural data.
• Assist physicians during radiological or sterile diagnostic procedures.

Rad Technologist – Evening/Night Shift

Full‑time position located at 1906 Belleview Ave SE, Roanoke, VA. Shift: Wednesday‑Friday, 7p.m.–7a.m., with rotating call and holidays. The role is part of Carilion Clinic’s diagnostic imaging department and focuses on ionizing radiation procedures in emergency, inpatient, and operating room settings.

Compensation and benefits
Sign‑on bonus up to $30,000 and relocation assistance up to $7,000 are available. Salary ranges from $27.70 to $41.55 per hour (does not include benefits or pension plan). Responsibilities

• Cross‑train basic laboratory phlebotomy and operate laboratory waiver testing equipment in compliance with CLIA regulations.
• Record and maintain all procedural data.
• Assist physicians during radiological or sterile diagnostic procedures.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• No prior experience required; experience is a plus.
• ARRT registry or registry‑eligible.
• AHA BLS‑HCP certification.
• Effective interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
