Job summary

Community Hospital in Indiana is seeking a Student Radiology Technologist Fellow to work in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab under the supervision of the Cath Lab Technologist. You will assist with preparing and screening patients, positioning and performing exams as requested, and support indirect care tasks.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Must have completed 2 semesters of an accredited Radiographic Program and be in good academic standing.
• Current Indiana State Department of Health Student License.

Responsibilities

• Assist technologist with preparing and screening patients for exams; position and perform exam as requested.
• Document and reinforce patient/family education; stock supplies; room turnover; and patient transportation/escort.
• Collaborates with Cardiac Catheterization Lab team to provide additional services as directed.

POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY

The Cath Lab Radiology Tech nologist Student Fellow works under the direction of the Cath Lab Technologist and performs direct and indirect patient care. Direct patient care can include assisting technologist with preparing and screening patient for exam, positioning and performance of exam, as requested. Indirect patient care can include documentation; assist to reinforce patient/family education, stocking supplies, room turnover, and patient transportation/escort. Collaborates with other members of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab team to perform other services as directed.

Maintains a high level of initiative, dependability and motivation. Displays a professional attitude with patients and staff. Communicates effectively. Exhibits knowledge of hospital/departmental developments by attending at least the minimum number of required in-services and meetings.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE :

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Must have completed 2 semesters of an accredited Radiographic Program and be in good academic standing.
• Current Indiana State Department of Health Student License.
