Job summary

Community Health Network is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist for the Cardiac Cath Lab in Kokomo, IN. The role includes scrubbing, monitoring, and assisting with advanced diagnostic and interventional procedures, with on-call responsibilities.

Required are an Associate's Degree in Radiology or certification in Radiography along with ARRT (R) and Indiana licensure. Sign-on bonus is available.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Radiology or completion of radiography certification.
• ARRT (R) license and Indiana Radiologic Technologist license required.
• Ability to scrub, monitor and assist during Cath Lab procedures.

Responsibilities

• Scrub, monitor and assist physicians during cardiac and peripheral vascular procedures.
• Prepare patient and equipment for cardiac lab procedures, ensuring site entry and sterility.
• Circulate during procedures as applicable and assist with instrument handling.
• Monitor hemodynamic data using appropriate equipment and document findings.

Call one day a week, every 3rd Thursday, and every 3rd weekend (Friday 4pm - Monday 7:30am) Extra call responsibility when short staffed.

The Cardiac Cath Lab Interventional Rad Tech performs advanced diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures and peripheral vascular procedures in the Cardiac Cath Lab. Cardiac Cath Lab Interventional Radiology Technologists are responsible for scrubbing, monitoring, and assisting providers as requested. Technologists respond with the team to patient distress situations and assist with equipment quality control and inventory management.

Exceptional Skills and Qualifications

• Prepares patient and equipment for cardiac lab procedures by preparing site of entry, - draping patient, arranging sterilized instruments and catheters, and calibrating and setting up pressure transducers and tubing.
• Is responsible for preparing and ensuring that all x-ray images are of good quality and x-ray related equipment for procedures are maintained.
• Attends to patient needs during cardiac lab procedures.
• Circulates during procedure, as applicable.
• Scrubs during procedure, as applicable. Assists the physician in maneuvering catheters.
• Monitors and records hemodynamic, electrical, and angiographic data by operating - hemodynamic and electrical amplifiers and digital and line fluoroscopic equipment.
• Participates in life‑saving measures such as defibrillation and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
• Participates in On‑call per established call schedule.
• Assists in transporting patients to nursing units.
• Prepares the Cardiac Lab procedures rooms by ensuring that adequate stock is available.
• Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
• Effectively communicates with members of the care team to deliver high quality, patient centered care.
• Education: Associates Degree in Radiology or Completion of certification program in Radiography
• License: Required: Current ARRT (R) and current license as a Radiologic Technologist by the State of Indiana
