Job summary

Community Hospital is seeking a Student Radiology Technologist Fellow for the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. The role supports direct patient care under a technologist, including screening, positioning and assisting with procedures, and also handles documentation and patient education.

The position requires enrollment in an accredited Radiologic Technology program, completion of at least two semesters, and an Indiana Student License to contribute to a fast-paced cath lab team.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Must have completed 2 semesters of an accredited Radiographic Program and be in good academic standing.
• Current Indiana State Department of Health Student License.

Responsibilities

• Assist technologist with preparing and screening patients for exams, positioning and performance of exams.
• Document procedures and reinforce patient/family education.
• Stock supplies, manage room turnover and assist with patient transportation/escort.

POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY

The Cath Lab Radiology Tech nologist Student Fellow works under the direction of the Cath Lab Technologist and performs direct and indirect patient care. Direct patient care can include assisting technologist with preparing and screening patient for exam, positioning and performance of exam, as requested. Indirect patient care can include documentation; assist to reinforce patient/family education, stocking supplies, room turnover, and patient transportation/escort. Collaborates with other members of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab team to perform other services as directed.

Maintains a high level of initiative, dependability and motivation. Displays a professional attitude with patients and staff. Communicates effectively. Exhibits knowledge of hospital/departmental developments by attending at least the minimum number of required in-services and meetings.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE :

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Must have completed 2 semesters of an accredited Radiographic Program and be in good academic standing.
• Current Indiana State Department of Health Student License.
