Job summary

Etched.ai is seeking a Thermal Engineer, Rack Level to own the thermal design and validation of the L11 rack system. You will define fill/commissioning, validate CDU systems, and serve as the technical voice on facility integration for customers and GTM teams.

You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and systems teams, bringing hands-on datacenter cooling expertise to ensure reliable performance in enterprise environments.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years in thermal or mechanical engineering with hands-on CDU and datacenter cooling.
• Experience installing, commissioning, or validating liquid cooling at datacenter scale.
• Experience with CDU validation including flow, pressure, temperature, and controls testing.
• Strong knowledge of datacenter cooling loops and the control systems that run them.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Own thermal design and validation of the L11 rack system, including the rack-level liquid loop and interfaces to facility cooling.
• Develop deployment, fill, and commissioning processes for liquid-cooled racks.
• Validate reference CDU systems and qualification of CDU partners for thermal performance and reliability.
• Characterize rack-level thermal performance and use results to drive design decisions.
• Define cooling-loop control strategies and interactions with facility controls.
• Support GTM and customers as technical point of contact on facility integration questions.
• Collaborate with tray and module engineers to meet rack and facility constraints.
• Create and maintain rack thermal specifications and validation reports.
• Investigate and resolve thermal and fluid issues in lab and deployed systems.
