Job summary

Etched in San Jose seeks a Thermal Engineer, Rack Level to own the thermal design and validation of the L11 rack system, including the rack-level liquid loop, manifolds, quick disconnects, and facility cooling interfaces. You will define deployment, fill, and commissioning processes, validate CDU systems in the field, and serve as the technical voice on facility integration for customers and the GTM team.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of hands-on thermal or mechanical engineering in datacenter contexts.
• Hands-on commissioning of liquid cooling systems in real data centers.
• Experience with CDU validation, flow, temperature, and pressure testing.

Responsibilities

• Own thermal design and validation of the L11 rack system, including the rack-level liquid loop, manifolds, quick disconnects, and interfaces to facility cooling.
• Develop and document deployment, fill, and commissioning processes for liquid-cooled racks, from first fill through bring-up at customer sites.
• Validate reference CDU systems and write/execute test plans in the lab and field, qualifying CDU partners on thermal performance, reliability, and controls.
• Characterize rack-level thermal and hydraulic performance and drive design decisions based on results.
• Define and validate cooling-loop control strategies and their interaction with datacenter facility controls.
• Support GTM and customers as the technical point of contact on facility integration questions.
• Collaborate with tray and module engineers to ensure rack/system compatibility with facility constraints.
• Create and maintain rack thermal specifications, commissioning procedures, validation reports, and customer-facing documents.
• Investigate and resolve thermal and fluid-related issues in lab and deployed systems.
