Job summary

IDR, Inc. is seeking a Rack Integration Engineer to join one of our top clients in Houston, TX. You will lead hands-on rack build and integration on the production floor, guiding a team to meet scope, quality, and schedule expectations while driving continuous improvement in data center operations.

The role requires strong hardware integration knowledge, leadership experience, and the ability to troubleshoot issues quickly in a fast-paced environment; travel is frequent to multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building and assembling server/data center racks in a production environment
• Strong technical background in hardware integration (servers, storage, networking components, cabling, PDUs, patching, etc.)
• Proven leadership experience guiding a team in a technical production, engineering, manufacturing, or data center build setting
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues encountered during rack builds and integration
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, highly visible environment

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day rack production and integration activities on the production floor to meet build plans and quality standards
• Provide hands-on technical guidance for server rack builds, hardware integration, and configuration workflows
• Assign work, set priorities, and coach a team to improve throughput, accuracy, and consistency
• Troubleshoot technical build issues and remove blockers to keep production moving
• Partner with stakeholders to improve processes, documentation, and production efficiency
• This role requires frequent travel

IDR is seeking a Rack Integration Engineer to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Houston, TX, Saline, MI, and Memphis, TN. In this role, you’ll lead hands-on rack build and integration work in a high-visibility, production-focused environment supporting large-scale data center operations. You’ll guide a team on the production floor, ensuring rack builds meet scope, quality, and schedule expectations while driving continuous improvement across build processes.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship. C2C arrangements will not be considered.

Position Overview for the Rack Integration Engineer:
