Job summary

Devonshire is seeking a Rack Level Integration Engineer in San Jose, CA to validate and integrate AI compute rack components, including servers, accelerators, networking, backplanes, and power/cooling systems. You will lead multi-domain solutions, ensure interoperability, and drive thorough testing and documentation.

Responsibilities include integrating optical interconnects, configuring smart PDUs, and collaborating with engineers, program managers, customers, and vendors to deliver robust rack

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (or related) with 3–5 years of experience, OR a Master’s/PhD with 2–3 years of experience, OR equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands‑on experience in rack‑level integration.
  • Deep understanding of AI compute rack configurations and component functionality.
  • Proficiency in Mechanical and Thermal CAD tools.

  • Lead Technical Solutions: Design, develop, and implement solutions for complex, multi-domain projects.
  • Optical Interconnects: Integrate cutting‑edge, rack‑level optical interconnects.
  • System Integration: Connect all hardware and software elements within AI compute racks for optimal performance.
  • Testing & Qualification: Set up and test complete rack solutions to exceed performance and efficiency standards.
  • Power Management: Integrate and configure smart PDUs to efficiently manage rack power distribution.
  • Rack Management: Maintain real‑time monitoring, control, and automation of critical rack components.
  • Lab Operations: Execute hands‑on lab racking, stacking, assembly, and setup of complex rack configurations.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain thorough, detailed documentation for all rack‑level integrations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross‑functional teams, design engineers, program managers, customers, and vendors.

Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rack Level Integration Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for the comprehensive validation and integration of advanced Photonic Fabric and all components within advanced AI compute racks. This includes overseeing the qualification and seamless integration of diverse components such as servers, accelerators, networking switches, optical backplanes, power shelves, and cooling solutions, ensuring they function cohesively within the rack environment.
