Job summary

Winter4Kids in Vernon Township, NJ is hiring a Ski Race Crew to support alpine race training and competition. You will help prepare courses, maintain safety, and assist officials during races, providing athletes with a smooth, high-quality experience on race days.

This on-site, hourly role focuses on hill setup, snow removal, timing support, and safe operations in accordance with Winter4Kids, US Ski & Snowboard, and FIS standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with hill setup including fencing, safety netting, start/finish areas, and signage.
• Set, slip, and maintain training and race courses under the direction of coaches or officials.
• Maintain racing surfaces throughout training and events, including snow removal, raking, and salt application when necessary.
• Support timing and race operations by helping with equipment setup, cabling, and data logistics.
• Serve as course workers, or other assigned roles during races.
• Assist in efficient tear-down and removal of equipment post-training or competition.
• Monitor athlete and spectator safety around the course and enforce safety protocols.
• Maintain compliance with Winter4Kids, US Ski & Snowboard, and FIS safety standards.
• Respond appropriately to on-hill incidents and assist ski patrol when needed

Job description

Position Purpose

The Ski Race Crew plays a critical role in supporting Winter4Kids' alpine race training and competition environment. This team ensures that race venues are prepared, maintained, and operated safely and efficiently, providing athletes with the highest quality experience. Crew members work closely with coaches, officials, and program staff to deliver smooth daily training sessions, time trials, and sanctioned races.

Key Responsibilities

Course Preparation & Maintenance

• Assist with hill setup including fencing, safety netting, start/finish areas, and signage.

Salary: $16 per hour
