Job summary

Versant Media, LLC is seeking a Manager, Central Accounting (Record to Report) to lead centralized R2R activities including journal entries, reconciliations, intercompany postings, and close processes. The role partners with Corporate Accounting, Treasury, Tax, Financial Systems and external providers to ensure timely, accurate reporting and strong controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field; CPA preferred
• 4+ years of progressive experience in corporate accounting, controllership, shared services, or Record to Report operations
• Demonstrated experience leading month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, intercompany activity, PP&E, payroll accounting, travel and expense accounting, and audit support
• Strong understanding of US GAAP, SOX requirements, internal controls, and accounting operations best practices
• At least 3 years of experience supervising staff and/or overseeing outsourced, offshore, BPO, or shared-service accounting teams
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills

Responsibilities

• Lead daily and monthly execution of centralized R2R activities including journal entries and reconciliations
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close calendar and escalate risks
• Review and approve journal entries and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance
• Coordinate with Corporate Accounting, Consolidations, Treasury, Tax, and Controllership teams on close dependencies
• Prepare and support recurring reporting packages, P&L and balance-sheet analysis, audit schedules
• Maintain R2R master data and identify defects or control risks for remediation
• Lead and supervise analysts and outsourced R2R resources
• Monitor provider execution against SLAs, KPIs, and close deadlines
• Run status reviews, maintain issue logs, and provide risk updates
• Coach and develop team members to foster accountability and collaboration
• Execute and reinforce a SOX-compliant control environment across R2R processes
• Partner with Risk & Compliance, Internal/External Audit on walkthroughs and testing
• Identify control gaps and drive corrective actions
• Support ERP modernization and finance transformation initiatives
• Assist with SAP, BlackLine, Promenta, and related tools adoption
