LifeGift Organ Donor Center seeks a Donation Recovery Specialist to oversee operating room recovery, preservation, and packaging of organs and tissues for transplant and research. You will assist in donor identification, stabilization, and coordination of the organ recovery process across both local and distant teams.

The role requires CST or CFA training (or equivalent), plus Texas and/or national licensure.

Formación

• Knowledge of human anatomy and medical terminology.
• Completion of CST or CFA or equivalent allied health training program.
• Must maintain Texas and National licensure/certification if applicable.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate organ recovery in the operating room, providing perfusion, preservation, packaging, and distribution of recovered organs/tissues for transplantation and/or research.
• Provide assistance during donor identification, stabilization, and management.
• Ensure safe and timely transfer of blood, tissue typing materials, organs, and tissues to the appropriate facility.
• Receive and screen organ offers and communicate information to local transplant centers.
• Coordinate and participate with recovery teams in distant acquisition of organs/tissues.
• Maintain procurement equipment and supplies to ensure efficiency.

• Provideassistanceduringlocaldonoridentification,stabilizationandmanagementoforgan/tissuedonors.
• Providesafeandtimelytransferofblood,tissuetypingmaterials,organs,andtissuestotheappropriatefacility.
• Coordinatestheorganrecoveryprocessintheoperatingroom.Providingperfusion,preservation,packaging,anddistributionofrecoveredorgans/tissuesfortransplantationand/orresearch.
• Assistwiththeanatomicaldissectionandplacementofkidneysonapreservationpumpandisresponsibleformonitoringkidneyfunctionduringperfusion.
• Responsiblefordeliveryofkidneysonthepreservationpumptothereceivingtransplantcenterensuringproperverificationofdonorinformationandallocation.
• Receiveandscreenreferredorganoffersfromdistantorganprocurementagenciesandprovideaccuratecommunicationofinformationtolocaltransplantcenters.Coordinatesandparticipateswithrecoveryteamsinthedistantacquisitionoforgans/tissues.
• Responsibleforthemaintenanceofprocurementequipment,recoverysupplies,andprocurementsupplyroomtoensureoptionalefficiency.

DoyouhavetheeducationandexperiencetobeaDonationRecoverySpecialist?

• CompletionofaCertifiedScrubTechnologist(CST)CertifiedFirstAssist(CFA),orotheralliedhealthtrainingprogram,orequivalentexperience.
• MusthaveandmaintaintheirTexasandNationallicensureand/orcertificationifapplicable.
• Fouryearsofexperienceinanacutecarehospital,pre-hospitalemergencycaresetting,ororganprocurementorganizationpreferred.
• Musthaveknowledgeofhumananatomy&medicalterminology.
