Job summary

CWILL, a post-purchase and retention SaaS for Shopify brands, is seeking a newly graduated or soon-to-graduate engineer to join our R&D Management Trainee program. You’ll work in a product engineering team on production systems from day one, with mentorship and increasing ownership over modules and technical decisions.

You'll contribute to features across the full stack with a backend focus, handle system maintenance, and collaborate with peers to improve scalability and reliability, while

Qualifications

• Recent US university graduate or within 1–2 years of graduation.
• Proficiency in at least one backend language: JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, Go, or PHP.
• Web fundamentals: HTTP, RESTful API design, frontend-backend interaction, and relational databases.
• Basic SQL and database understanding (MySQL or PostgreSQL).
• Able to read documentation, debug systematically, and own your work through completion.
• Reliable and communicative — you surface problems early and follow through on commitments.

Responsibilities

• Build features across the full stack with a backend focus: APIs, business logic, data processing, and third-party integrations.
• Participate in technical solution design, coding, integration testing, and deployment.
• Take ownership of the quality of the features you build and deliver them to spec.
• Follow team engineering standards: code reviews, documentation, and testing.
