Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems in Massachusetts seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to move products from development to full-scale production, partnering with design, QA, supply chain and production to ensure smooth launches.

You will implement manufacturing processes, optimize layouts, perform DFMA/DFM analyses, and help build reliable, scalable operations while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
• 5+ years in manufacturing engineering, with R&D-to-manufacturing experience.
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma or similar process-improvement methods.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and qualify manufacturing processes for new products.
• Design production layouts, tooling, and fixtures.
• Conduct DFM and DFA analyses to improve designs.
• Create and maintain process documentation and SOPs.
• Coordinate with supply chain to ensure timely delivery and quality.
• Monitor manufacturing metrics and drive continuous improvement.
• Train production staff on new processes and safety standards.
