Job summary

KEB America is seeking a motivated R&D Test Technician to support the engineering lab. You will assist with setup, running, and teardown of electromechanical tests under guidance from the Lab Coordinator and Engineering team.

You will help install and maintain lab equipment and ensure tests run smoothly. The role involves reading schematics, wiring tests, taking precise measurements, and collecting data while troubleshooting as needed.

Qualifications

• Technical degree in Industrial/Automation/Controls or Electrical field.
• Experience with hand tools and electrical wiring.
• Ability to read schematics and understand basic components.
• Experience in programming.

Responsibilities

• Set up tests including wiring and electromechanical assembly.
• Take lab measurements such as voltage, current, and temperature.
• Collect data and present test results in an organized manner.
• Follow detailed instructions and schematics; troubleshoot devices and tests.

About this position

Description: As a KEB R&D Test Technician you will use your knowledge and skills to help accomplish tasks and projects with the Lab Coordinator and Engineering team. This position will assist with the setup, running, and tear down of electromechanical tests in the Engineering Lab. This position will also assist in the installation and maintenance of equipment in the Engineering Lab.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Setup of tests including wiring and electromechanical assembly
• Taking various lab measurements such as voltage, current, and temperature
• Data collection and organized representation of tests
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and schematics
• Troubleshooting of devices and tests

Education / Experience

• Technical Degree received in the fields of Industrial, Automation, Controls, Electrical or related
• Experience with hand tools
• Experience with electrical wiring
• Reading of schematics and knowledge of basic components.
• Experience programming

Specific Technical Skills (May be learned on the job)

• Test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters
• Panel wiring following a schematic
• 3- Phase wiring experience
• Working with high voltage and current systems
• Programming of PLCs
• Basic understanding of variable speed drives and control systems
