Job summary

Viltis in San Diego seeks an experienced R&D Technician III to support a dynamic research and development team. You will layout, build, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify mechanical or electro-mechanical materials, devices, and assemblies with advanced instrumentation.

You will collaborate with engineers and scientists, maintain detailed documentation, and participate in all phases from concept through testing and analysis, contributing to cross-functional discussions on device performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required, in engineering or related field.
• 4–6 years of relevant experience.
• Strong teamwork skills.
• Good manual dexterity; able to disassemble/reassemble instruments.
• Experience using buffers and running instruments.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties in electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanical, chemical, or optical areas.
• Build or assemble prototype materials, components, subassemblies, and assemblies.
• Construct, operate, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, maintain, and test equipment, systems, or products.
• Work from schematics, engineering drawings, and written/verbal instructions.
• Perform tests, analyze data, and write reports.
• Review or develop processing or manufacturing instructions.
• Maintain detailed documentation through all phases of development, testing, and analysis.
• Assist in technology transfer and contribute to cross-functional discussions regarding device performance.
