Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories is seeking a highly motivated R&D Systems Engineer to join the MGT Quality team and lead design and production project activities for robust product qualification and delivery.

On a typical day, you will drive requirements engineering, verification and validation, risk analysis, and technical documentation at multiple system levels, collaborating across roles to ensure safe, reliable outcomes across the product realization lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with 5+ years of direct R&D experience.
• Active DOE Q security clearance or equivalent.
• Graduate degree considered an advantage for senior roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical design contributions across the product lifecycle, including requirements engineering, V&V, risk analysis and technical documentation at system and subsystem levels.
• Develop requirements traceability reports, verification/validation plans and PQs; prepare necessary qualification documents.
• Perform engineering evaluations to meet design definitions and support production qualification.
• Generate engineering authorizations such as SXRs and FCOs; manage QERs via PRIME CM system.
• Communicate and collaborate across staff, team leads, and management to advance projects.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams through the product realization lifecycle from concept to sustainment.
• Identify, assess and mitigate risks to deliver safe, reliable, and robust products.
