Job summary

NOW Health Group, Inc. seeks an R&D Specialist I for the 2nd shift in Sparks, NV. This on-site role supports formulation, product improvement, and process troubleshooting to meet profitability and quality objectives.

Responsibilities include reformulating existing products, evaluating raw materials, recording data in Oracle, and assisting with pilot plant trials; a BS in Food Science and experience in tableting/encapsulation are preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Formulates and/or re-formulates existing products with cost-effective formulations that can be manufactured efficiently to meet profitability objectives and company goals.
• Provides technical troubleshooting to increase efficiencies, rectify product deviations, resolve quality problems, and address production difficulties.
• Coordinates, develops and evaluates formulas to ensure NOW specifications compliance.
• Inputs bill of materials, specifications, and manufacturing instructions into Oracle.
• Works with Pilot Plant equipment for product trials and related activities.
• Completes and evaluates product approval packages for review by managers.
• Performs tests on new and existing raw materials to accept or reject based on manufacturing capabilities.
