Job summary

NOW Foods in Sparks, NV is seeking an R&D Technician I for 1st shift to support supervisors and specialists on developmental product tasks. You will collect data, prepare mixes, and help run the Pilot Plant equipment daily.

The role involves documenting experiments, maintaining lab readiness, and assisting with packaging tests and safety procedures. Flexibility for extended hours and weekends is required to support production schedules.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in chemistry, science, or engineering with relevant experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably food or pharmaceuticals.
• Previous laboratory experience with GLPs and GMPs.
• Strong ability to follow procedures and document results clearly.

Responsibilities

• Collects, interprets, and records relevant research and data.
• Operates and maintains pilot plant lab equipment.
• Prepares sample mixes for tablets, capsules, and liquids.
• Sets up pilot plant tablet press and encapsulator for new product runs.
• Performs tests such as density, pH, hardness, and viscosity; supports stability studies.
