Job summary

Nordic Naturals is seeking an R&D Pilot Lab Technician to support the development, optimization, and scale-up of softgel processes in the Product Development pilot facility in Vista, CA. You will prepare and execute pilot-scale softgel batches, operate and maintain pilot equipment, perform analytical testing, and document results with high accuracy.

The role includes contributing to lab workflows, SOPs, batch records, and equipment readiness under guidance from the Senior R&D Process Engineer.

Qualifications

• Ability to produce high-quality work with limited supervision.
• Knowledge of nutraceutical industry and ingredients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and execute pilot-scale softgel batches (gelatin prep, fill formulation, encapsulation, drying) with increasing independence.
• Operate, clean, tear down, and maintain softgel pilot equipment; troubleshoot and escalate issues.
• Conduct in-process and analytical testing (viscosity, density, fill weight, moisture, gel strength, pH) and prepare samples for QA or external labs.
