BBI Solutions - Maine (Formerly Maine Biotechnology Services) in Portland, ME seeks an R&D Scientist for a permanent, full-time role focused on antibody development and recombinant strategy. You will support NPD, manage projects, and train onsite staff while collaborating with Operations and Global R&D.

The role emphasizes experimental work, method development, data interpretation, and delivering high-quality products to customers in a fast-paced biotech environment.

Qualifications

• MS/PhD with immunology, cell/molecular biology, biochemistry, or related field; BS acceptable with 5–10 years experience.
• Hands-on molecular biology techniques.
• Experience with mammalian cell culture (CHO) for recombinant production.
• Experience with antibody development, expression, purification and/or characterization.
• Strong problem-solving, ability to manage multiple tasks and collaborate.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong scientific and technical leadership in support of BBI goals; apply expertise in immunology and antibody characterization.
• Critically analyze data and document results for diverse audiences.
• Collaborate with customers and Global R&D to devise strategies and plans to meet goals.
• Manage projects and provide technical training as needed.
• Support new technology and product development efforts; assist operations as required.
