Job summary

Formlabs in Boston, MA is seeking an R&D Reliability/Test Engineer to join the Hardware Engineering team. You will design and execute validation tests across system, subsystem and components, perform RCA on failures, and build automated test rigs to push reliability.

You’ll analyze field data, collaborate with design teams, and drive CAPAs to improve product robustness. Prototyping tests in Python and data-driven storytelling are key parts of the role, with strong emphasis on reliability from

Qualifications

• Experience validating electromechanical systems across sensors and actuators.
• Ability to develop and execute system test plans.
• Prototyping and running tests from setup to hardware/software in Python.
• Strong data analysis and the ability to tell a clear, actionable story.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and manage validation test plans at system/subsystem/component level.
• Perform hands-on RCA of electromechanical subsystems and field failures.
• Design and build automated testing equipment for reliability testing.
• Collaborate with R&D to assess risks and influence design for reliability.
• Analyze field failure data to identify trends and propose CAPAs.
