What do we need:

is seeking an R&D Technician II to join our Incoming and Packaging Quality Control team within the *** Research & Development division. This team, located at our Ada, Michigan headquarters, provides a broad range of quality assurance services and expertise, supporting ***’s global Innovation, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain functions. This is a first shift, five-day position.

What’s special about this team:

The QC Incoming and Packaging group is a dynamic team of 11 FTEs and 18 contractors focused on sampling, testing, and releasing raw material and components in a high-throughput lab located in Bldg 44B-2G. This team works under the umbrella of the QC Department, which also includes Microbiology, Chemistry, and Records Review. They collaborate cross-functionally with partners in Research & Development, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain. The main function of the team is to assess and disposition raw materials and components in a timely manner to support *** Manufacturing and Supply Chain Planning.

What’s special about this role:

This role supports raw material processing in the lab’s lean cells. Responsibilities include managing supplier COA issues (trade name discrepancies, missing test results, incorrect limits), partnering with suppliers to improve documentation accuracy, and collaborating with internal *** groups to enhance specifications and testing limits/parameters. The role requires attention to detail, organization, and follow-through to ensure timely raw material release. It offers potential for growth with upcoming Fusion volume transfer.

Required qualifications:
  • Associates or BS degree in chemistry, biology, Life sciences, or related field
  • Ability to follow SOPs/test methods and report data accurately
  • Experience conducting experiments as needed under scientific guidance
Skills to be successful in the role:
  • GMP chemistry laboratory experience preferred
  • Experience with QA Lab Systems (STARLIMS, ETQ Document Control and Deviation Module, JDE Release functions) preferred
  • Attention to detail in following test procedures, SOPs, and safety requirements
  • Ability to document work accurately and analyze data
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently while maintaining high quality standards
  • Flexible team player, self-motivated, adaptable, capable of working independently and collaboratively
