Job summary

UCAR is seeking a Project Manager II - Research & Development in Boulder, CO to coordinate and execute multi‑discipline R&D projects. The role focuses on developing new research infrastructure and programs, coordinating schedules, budgets, and milestones, and guiding teams through complex deliverables with stakeholders including NSF/NASA/NOAA as needed.

The PM II will apply predictive, agile, and hybrid methods, manage risk, and ensure on‑time outcomes while working within the FLPO/PMO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with 2–4 years managing scientific/technical projects.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and engage stakeholders across organizations.
• Experience applying predictive, agile, or hybrid PM methods.

Responsibilities

• Define project outcomes, success metrics, and resource commitments.
• Develop and monitor integrated project plans across scopes, schedules, and budgets.
• Coordinate risk management, change control, and performance tracking throughout projects.
• Communicate project status to sponsors and leadership and ensure timely deliverables.
