Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a Senior Project Manager for ACOS to drive strategic, cross-functional initiatives supporting the AbbVie Community of Science. You will manage multi-project scope, risks, and dependencies while partnering with R&D Change Management and ACOS Program Management.

The role requires strong communication, leadership in a matrix environment, and the ability to deliver transformational projects within ACOS (e.g., ACOS Reimagined).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required with 7 years of related work experience, or Master’s degree with 6 years of related work experience.
• Experience in a complex matrix environment with strong oral and written communication.
• 2+ years of project management experience, including leadership of a cross-functional project.
• Proven leadership skills and executive presence.

Responsibilities

• Formulates project scope, timelines and deliverables independently and prioritizes work.
• Identifies project risks and develops mitigation plans; provides options to management.
• Reports project status to management and provides support to others outside the department.
• Communicates with the project team through meetings and minutes.
• Executes projects in compliance with processes and procedures; supports in team member selection.
• Documents lessons learned and develops actions plans for improvements.
• Uses project tools to manage project according to plan.
• Demonstrates leadership and builds positive relationships across teams.
• Tracks cross-project dependencies and mitigates risks and conflicts.
• Translates executive vision into a structured program roadmap with milestones.
