Job summary

Johnsonville is seeking a Summer 2027 intern on the Product Insights team within Research and Development. You will support sensory testing, evaluate product characteristics, and participate in cross-functional project teams across Marketing, Consumer Insights, and Food Safety.

The role emphasizes hands-on sensory work, collaboration with R&D scientists on ready-to-eat and new technology products, and presenting learnings at the internship's end. Strong academics and enthusiasm are required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s Degree in Culinary, Meat Science or Food Science from an accredited university; junior or senior preferred
• 3.5 GPA strongly preferred
• Basic understanding of Sensory Science

Responsibilities

• Assist in testing of new product platforms, line extensions and performance improvements
• Evaluate sensory characteristics of Johnsonville's product portfolio
• Participate in cross-functional project team activities
• Collaborate with R&D scientists on fresh, ready-to-eat and new technology products
• Plan and carry out sensory product testing based on project timelines
• Leverage competencies to plan culinary solutions for customers
• Help ensure product performance via sensory analysis
• Interpret test results and present to project team
• Assist with ongoing sensory tests and product cuttings
• Plan and execute Johnsonville product showcase for Summer 2027 Intern Group
• Maintain accurate work records and share results with team
• Present learnings to team at end of internship
