Georgia‑Pacific, LLC (GP) is hiring an R&D Process Engineer for its Packaging and Cellulose Innovation Institute. The role supports Mailers division manufacturing initiatives, including supplier onboarding, equipment installation, training, and performance testing.

Travel of 50-75% is required across Norcross, Jonestown, Tolleson sites. The candidate will lead onboarding for external suppliers, install and troubleshoot converting equipment, and drive process improvements to raise OEE and reduce

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Power BI, etc.
• Experience with data analysis software (JMP, SAS, etc.).
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading process improvement initiatives.
• Willingness to travel 50-75% based on project needs.

Responsabilités

• Act as the technical lead for evaluating, qualifying, and onboarding external suppliers
• Support the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of new converting equipment and develop SME on those systems
• Lead process improvement initiatives to increase OEE, reduce waste, and lower costs
• Translate learnings and technology upgrades into actionable insights, and communicate findings to multiple sites and commercial teams
• Develop and execute experiments to troubleshoot issues and validate process changes
