Job summary

Georgia-Pacific, LLC is seeking an R&D Process Engineer for its Packaging and Cellulose Innovation Institute to support Mailers division initiatives, including supplier onboarding, equipment installation, training, testing, and process development.

The role requires communicating data clearly to technical and non-technical audiences and traveling 50-75% to sites in Norcross, GA; Jonestown, PA; Tolleson, AZ. Join a team of about 60 at GP Innovation Institute.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related discipline.
Proficiency with data presentation software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Power BI).
Experience with data analysis software (JMP, SAS, etc.).
Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to travel 50-75% as project needs.

Responsibilities

Act as technical lead for evaluating, qualifying, and onboarding external suppliers.
Support installation and commissioning of new converting equipment and develop SME.
Lead process improvement initiatives to increase OEE, reduce waste, and lower costs.
Translate learnings into actionable insights and communicate findings across sites.
Develop and execute experiments to troubleshoot issues and validate changes.
