Job summary

The Campbell's Company is seeking a Process Engineer to support process development of new products, evaluate cost improvement initiatives, and troubleshoot manufacturing issues within the Soup & Broth R&D team under supervision. You will work with experienced engineers to develop an understanding of the Process R&D Engineering function.

You will report to the R&D Manager – Process Engineering and collaborate with senior engineers and product development for project work, travel to facilities

Qualifications

• BS Engineering is required.
• 1 year in food-related and/or chemical engineering experience within R&D or manufacturing facility (co-ops/internships considered).
• Travel to thermal manufacturing facilities and/or co-manufacturing facilities >25%.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with manager, senior engineer, or product development to perform basic plant/pilot plant feasibilities, implementation of new product/processes/packaging initiatives, as well as improving/troubleshooting plant manufacturing issues.
• Evaluate formula margin opportunities with close collaboration with the Enabler Acceleration Team.
• Develop test plans (design of experiments) for feasibility work and document results.
• Learn all plant/pilot plant equipment to enable successful translation and scale up.
• Trouble shoot against product and ingredient technical problems/gaps across the Soup & Broth platform.
• Develop technical thought leadership, business and creative problem-solving skills.
• Develop project management and prioritization skills.
• Demonstrates awareness of external activities (new technologies, best practices, regulations) for growth.
• Partner with R&D Innovation Team on Soup & Broth products to solve technical process/ingredient challenges before commercialization.
