Job summary

Campbell Soup Company is seeking a technically skilled engineer to collaborate with engineering and R&D teams on plant feasibility, pilot-scale work, and process improvements. You will learn equipment for scale-up and troubleshoot ingredient and product issues across the Soup & Broth platform.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, developmental leadership, and alignment with external technologies and best practices to support commercialization.

Qualifications

• BS Engineering required; 1 year in food/chemical engineering in R&D or manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with manager, senior engineer, or product development to perform basic plant/pilot plant feasibilities.
• Evaluate formula margin opportunities with Enabler Acceleration Team.
• Develop test plans (design of experiments) for feasibility work and document results.
• Learn plant/pilot plant equipment to enable scale-up.
• Troubleshoot product/ingredient technical problems across Soup & Broth platform.
• Develop technical thought leadership and project management skills.
• Partner with R&D Innovation Team to solve technical challenges before commercialization.

What you will do...

Collaborate with manager, senior engineer, or product development to perform basic plant/pilot plant feasibilities, implementation of new product/processes/packaging initiatives, as well as improving/troubleshooting plant manufacturing issues. Evaluate formula margin opportunities with close collaboration with the Enabler Acceleration Team. Develop test plans (i.e. design of experiments) for all feasibility work with a foundational understanding and execution of result documentation and communication. Learn all plant/pilot plant equipment to enable successful translation and scale up. Trouble shoot against product & ingredient technical problems/gaps across the Soup & Broth platform. Develop technical thought leadership, business & creative problem-solving skills. Develop project management & prioritization skills. Demonstrates an awareness and understanding of external activities (new technologies, best practices, regulations, etc.) for continued growth and development. Partner with R&D Innovation Team on Soup & Broth products to solve technical process and/or ingredient challenges before commercialization.

What you bring to the table (must haves)...

• BS Engineering Required 1 year in Food related and/or Chemical Engineering experience within R&D or Manufacturing Facility (related co-op/internship experiences will be considered)
• >25%Travel to Thermal Manufacturing Facilities and or Co-Manufacturing Facilities

• Basic Understanding of scale-up and manufacturing technical challenges.
• Proficient decision making and project management.
• Emerging ability to multi-task and work comfortably with senior engineers and/or cross functional partners within R&D, corporate engineering, and business teams.

Compensation and Benefits: The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between $75,800-$104,200 Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
