Job summary

Trelleborg Sealing Solutions US Inc is seeking a Polymer Process Engineer to lead R&D on polymer processing methods,-scale production, and equipment development. The role emphasizes efficient processing, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.

The candidate will work with injection molding equipment, automation, and polymers knowledge to scale processes to production and support continuous improvement. Domestic/international travel up to 20% is possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline is required.
• Minimum 4 years in processes such as injection molding, extrusion, composites, thermoforming, etc.
• Minimum 4 years in automation processes or polymer processing.
• Must be able to lift at least 25 kgs.

Responsibilities

• Performs complex research and analysis to determine the best process design approach.
• Provide recommendations for manufacturing tools, machines, and sub-assemblies to commercialize the product.
• Investigate costs and provide process adjustments and improvements.
• Determines equipment requirements for compatibility with the process.
• Selects new manufacturing processes and may introduce new equipment.
• Provide technical assistance in implementing new manufacturing technologies.
• Follow documentation practices and seek continuous improvements.
• Operate injection molding machines and related equipment; promote automation.
• Collaborate with Materials Testing, Simulation, and Product Design teams.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrate strong time management and ability to multitask.
