Job summary

Temposonics, LLC in Cary, NC, is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician to join the R&D team. You will prototype parts, machine fixtures, and support PCB assembly and testing in a fast-paced lab environment.

The role requires hands-on experience with CNC/manual machines, soldering, GD&T, and metrology tools. 3+ years in a similar setting is preferred, with a focus on precision and reliability.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical/Electromechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent military/trade experience.
• 3+ years hands-on experience in an R&D lab, rapid-prototyping shop, or precision manufacturing environment.
• Proven proficiency with manual and CNC machining, high-reliability PCB rework and soldering, reading complex mechanical drawings, GD&T, and electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Prototyping & Machining: set up and operate CNC/manual machines to fabricate prototype parts and fixtures.
• PCB Rework & Assembly: perform high-reliability PCB rework and fine-pitch soldering.
• Testing & Validation: conduct reliability and environmental testing and document results.
• NPI & Production Support: bridge between R&D and Manufacturing for smooth handoffs.
• Lab Management: maintain lab safety, inventories, and equipment.
