Job summary

Insight Global in Cary, NC is seeking a detail-oriented Electronics Assembly Technician to support prototype development and low-to-mid volume production of complex electronic systems. You will assemble PCBs, enclosures, harnesses, and sub-systems with high precision.

Qualifications

2+ years in electro-mechanical or electronics assembly in manufacturing or R&D.
Hands-on experience building cable harnesses and wiring assemblies.
Soldering small components (0402) with precision.
Perform precision rework on very small components (0201).
Ability to read electrical schematics and follow assembly instructions.
Experience using test equipment for troubleshooting and validation.
IPC certifications (J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620).
Experience with fine-pitch/high-density assemblies and ESD handling.
Experience in regulated industries (aerospace/defense/medical).

Responsibilities

Assemble electronic components including PCBs, enclosures, and sub-systems with high accuracy.
Build, route, and install wiring harnesses per specifications.
Perform soldering and rework on surface-mount and through-hole components.
Troubleshoot at board- and system-level using meters and scopes.
Read and interpret schematics, drawings, and BOMs.
Create and maintain assembly documentation and work instructions.
Collaborate with engineers during prototype builds and design changes.
Maintain a clean, organized, ESD-compliant workspace.
