Insight Global is seeking an experienced R&D Mechanical Engineer to support maintenance and design of downhole tools. You’ll use SolidWorks for 3D models and drawings, perform stress analyses, and develop test procedures while collaborating with multiple teams globally.

The role involves learning the company’s downhole equipment, leading to design improvements and validation from prototype to final tool. Offshore experience is valued.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 5+ years of related mechanical engineering experience.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks for 3D modeling and drawings.
• Strong GD&T drafting knowledge and tolerance analyses.
• Experience with stress calculations, test procedures, and results analysis.
• Engineering documentation experience including calculations and specs.
• Understanding of production/manufacturing processes and cost impact.
• Experience designing downhole electromechanical tools and familiarity with oil/gas environments.
• Offshore or oil and gas engineering experience is preferred.
• Master’s degree and downhole tool familiarity are a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Support product line maintenance and investigate field issues.
• Resolve manufacturing challenges and identify design improvements.
• Learn company downhole tools, products, and processes.
• Participate in design, analysis, testing, and validation from prototypes to final tools.
• Create and modify 3D models and drawings in SolidWorks.
• Develop test procedures, analyze results, and produce documentation.
• Collaborate with lead engineers, project managers, manufacturing, and field teams.
